Summary: Press Release: Local Regional Authors Meet for First Time

01 September 2007

Suzanne M Hurley, a Caledonia resident, is pleased to announce that her first mystery, Changeable Facades (E-ISBN: 1-59705-160-8 POD-ISBN Romantic Mystery) has been published.

Suzanne has been a mystery buff since she was a child. With three brothers in the house who owned the Hardy Boy Series she read and re-read each book, enthralled with the world of sleuthing and solving problems. She moved on to Agatha Christie, devoured her books and still proceeds to read every mystery she can get her hands on - Marcia Muller is currently her favorite author.

A few years ago, Suzanne tried her hand at writing her own mystery about Samantha Barclay, a fictional counselor at Milton High School in Paxton West Virginia. Although Paxton is an imaginary town, it is based on the small town, Pax that exists in West Virginia where she visited. Inspired by the hospitality of the people there, she conceived this novel while jogging one morning. The many hills, twists and turns of West Virginia mirrored the twists and turns found in her novel.

The gist of the story is this: Samantha Barclay, new to the school, encounters Tommy Bride, a ninth grade student who believes that his mother was murdered. Everyone else, including Deputy Al Michaels, believes that she died from complications of diabetes. Samantha wins the trust of Tommy and begins a wild ride as she races to find out who the killer is, before they strike again. The ending is shocking and will leave you stunned.
